Jiuzhai Valley National Park, UNESCO World Heritage Site, will be supporting UNEP World Environment Day on June 5th. The theme of this year’s World Environment Day – “Your planet needs you” – is meant to inspire all of us to do our part.

June the 1st is International Children’s day and on that day all children under the age of 14 will enjoy free admission to Jiuzhai Valley National Park.

A big thank you to all the friends and guests who came to Jiuzhai Valley on the 12th of May 2009. It was the busiest day in the history of Jiuzhai Valley and provided a much needed boost to the local economy.

Plan your visit

Shopping

Various local arts and crafts can be purchased around the park. The main shopping opportunities are in the Nuo Ri Lng centre where you can buy tang ka drawings, Tibetan swords, various embroidered products, carving and jewellery and everything else in between from local style key rings to yak skulls!

Throughout the villages outside the park are a huge range of local handi-crafts and souvenirs. Tailors can make local Tibetan outfits to order. Yak meat, wild mushrooms, teas, qingke jiu (Tibetan barley wine), local wines and ornaments are available to purchase or just to look at.
