Jiuzhai Valley and Northern Sichuan Tourism, Official Re-Opening:
Although Jiuzhai Valley or Huanglong National Parks in the Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture of northern Sichuan did not experience any significant damage as a result of the May 12th earthquake, the national government restricted access to organised tourism to most of the northern Sichuan region. During this time Jiuzhai Valley and Huanglong National Parks continued to welcome tourists that travelled independently.

Shopping

Various local arts and crafts can be purchased around the park. The main shopping opportunities are in the Nuorilang centre where you can buy Tangka drawings, Tibetan swords, various embroidered products, carving and jewellery and everything else in between from local style key rings to yak skulls!

Throughout the villages outside the park are a huge range of local handi-crafts and souvenirs. Tailors can make local Tibetan outfits to order. Yak meat, mushrooms, teas, Qingke jiu (Tibetan barley wine), local wines and ornaments are available to purchase or just to look at.
